Repetitive Dives and/or Multiday Dives (a minimum pre-flight surface interval of 18 hours is suggested), although some airlines require 14 hours.

Weather & Diving Equipment

Equipment

  • Scuba equipment must be within the weight allowance allowed by the airline- Usually 20kg. Some airlines have extra allowance for divers.
  • For beginner courses : all diving equipment will be provided for beginner courses, however we would recommend you buy your own mask, snorkel and fins.
  • All student divers are now required to have their own course manuals when training under the PADI System.
  • Glasses & Contact lenses: if you wear glasses, you can use contact lenses during the period you dive. If you wear contact lenses, you shouldn't have any problems wearing them when you dive. You can also order special mask glasses ( cressi corrective lens for example) or you can have  Prescription lenses in the mask. (Cressi corrective lens for example)

Which suit?

  • The average water temperature in winter ( November – march) is around 22 degree Celsius. According to your personal sensitivity we recommend a wetsuit suit of 5 mm to 7 mm.
  • Due to strong winds we recommend a neoprene-headband to prevent ear infections in the winter .
  • During summer, from (May – October) , a long john, a 3 mm wetsuit or even a Shorty are sufficient.
  • Gloves are not really needed and are forbidden at most dive sites.

Do I have to meet any special qualifications before I can participate in a SCUBA diving class?

Go diving

A Typical day of diving with Daniela

A typical day of diving consists of 2 shore dives.  We depart in small groups and all diving is with one of our dive guides who will give you a briefing about the dive site before entering the water.

Dives are scheduled around 9am and 2pm (1:30 in winter). In the morning, we set off with the Jeeps for our deep dive. We are usually back by 11:30, so that you have a couple hours to eat and relax before the afternoon dive.

There is always the possibility to do more than 2 dives a day . We can also arrange early morning dives, night dives if you whish as well as private guides. In the afternoon, we make a shallow dive. If we go to the south, usually we stay out all day. There are many little restaurants and bars where you can have a snack between the dives and sometimes we arrange a Bedouin lunch in between the dives. In the high seasons, we sometimes go a bit earlier or later than the normal hours to avoid other divers & crowds so that everybody can enjoy the diving.

We also arrange early morning and night dives as well as camel dive Safaris to Ras Abou Galloum and Gabr el bint Protectorates.

Can non-divers join the diving?

Of course! Non divers are always welcome to join & can snorkel while waiting for the divers. Most of the sites are nice to snorkel & have a place where they can sunbath or have a drink. We realize that many people bring their families when on diving holidays.

Check dive (scuba review)

If you have not dived for 6 months, or are not sure about some practices then normally we will ask you complete a check dive on your first dive. The check out starts with a short quiz which the instructor will review with you before your dive. You start your dive with a review of underwater skills, and then carry on with a full fun dive. Its a good opportunity to remind yourself of key skills, get used to new equipment and get your weight right.

Group Harmony

The Daniela Diving centre will do its best to keep the groups as small and Harmonious as possible. We always try to put divers of similar level together. This will make the divers enjoy their dives & create a Harmony in the groups.

To optimize this procedure we require with every diving booking the dive certificate level so we can prepare the groups in advance, a second check is of course done with the first dive.

Divers need to bring their logbooks & license.

If you do not feel comfortable diving is a group, it is also possible to have your personal guide for a little supplement.

How deep are the dive sites?

The Daniela Diving centre is a recreational diving centre. We do not offer technical diving, nor do we offer dives that exceeds any depth limits as a rule. This is for your safety & the safety of our team.

How many dives can I do in one day?

A typical day of diving consists of 2 shore dives. Dives are scheduled around 9am and 2pm (1:30pm in winter). In the morning, we set off with the Jeeps for our deep dive. We are usually back by 11:30, so that you have a couple hours to eat and relax before the afternoon dive. There is always the possibility to do more than 2 dives a day.

What am I Likely to see on a dive?

Dahab stands for shore diving, most of the 30 diving spots are accessible by jeeps. Dahab became famous among divers by the  Blue hole and the Canyon, classical, Diving in Dahab is shore-diving with a few exceptions. most of the places are very close to the diving centre and that makes it easy for our customers to relax at the hotel in between the dives. Shore based diving means that you have much more time to relax and enjoy your extra time during your holiday.
